The Byram Township Fire Department responded to the Byram Car Wash in Stanhope, where several small explosions came from a group of wires hanging over the structure, according to a Facebook post accompanied by a brief video of the action.

Members doused the flaming wires and insulation, which had caused a secondary fire on the side of the building and the detached shed.

With help from fire departments in Stanhope and Netcong, the fire was contained and prevented from extending to the inside of the building.

JCP&L later arrived at the scene and cut power from the wires before determining that there had been no extension of the blaze.

The Lakeland Emergency Squad and Byram Township Police Department also assisted at the scene.
